Description of Significance WHITE EAGLE PARK HAS SERVED AS AN IMPORTANT RELIGIOUS, SOCIAL, AND RECREATIONAL CENTER FOR THE PONCA TRIBE OF OKLAHOMA SINCE THE 1870S. THIS SITE INCLUDES 7 CONTRIBUTING RESOURCES, INCLUDING A CAMPGROUND, SEVERAL ARENAS FOR DANCING COMPLETE WITH HISTORIC SEATING, AND A SPRING STRUCTURE. THE PONCA TRIBE IDENTIFIES WHITE EAGLE PARK AS THE MOST IMPORTANT SITE TO THEIR CULTURE AND THEIR IDENTITY. THE PARK IS THE FIRST TRADITIONAL CULTURAL PLACE LISTED IN THE NATIONAL REGISTER FOR THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 6/8/2007.
